A Golden Birthday!

Hey scrappy friends!!!  Today I decided to play along with the Neat and Tangled Little Tangles Challenge. Featuring Gold and White.   Gold is very trendy right now and looks great on everything!

For this card I used Sketchy Cupcakes and embossed it with ZING Gold Embossing Powder from AC. I really like the color and smoothness of the powder.

I like the clean of the white and the pops of gold!!! It could really work with any color!

Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge #5

I hope you all had a great time Hopping along with the Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Holiday Hop.  If you didn't you can still see all the wonderful creations here.  I decided to play along with the Inky Paws Sketch Challenge today and there is still time to play.

I started off with a Kraft base and then got to stamping. That cute snow couple is colored with Inktense Pencils and a water brush on watercolor paper. Nothing fancy just some shading. I decided to with a more sweet colors than traditional holiday.  I really like the pink with grey combo.

Just in case you couldn't tell I love my glitter tape! I cut some fish tale banners and used the pink tape around a white piece of card stock to make a frame.  Easy peasy!

Materials:

AC Glitter Tape

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop!

Welcome to Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop!   I am super excited to be apart of this amazing list of designers to show you some great holiday inspiration.

You should of come here from Alice Wertz blog, if you didn't you can start from the beginning by going over to the Newton's Nook Designs Blog here

I have really been loving using the metallic foil tape from the hardware store.  You get it in the A/C duct isle.  It is used to tape sections of A/C duct together.  This tape it super fun to die cut and emboss! Perfect for the holidays. So I taped a piece of the foil tape on some card stock trimmed around it. Then ran it through my big shot with an embossing folder. I just love the effect of embossing folders.

I colored little Newton with some Stamp Markers from American Crafts.  Now this isn't what these markers are made for, but I love the texture they give when coloring an animal.

For some extra detail I cut some plastic bag that was lying around from doing some scrappy shopping. and glued it behind the box to flap over to mimic Tissue Paper.  You never know what you may recycle in your craft room!

Next on the hop is Kim Singdahlsen !  I can't wait to see what she created for the Inky Paws Hop.

I hope you enjoyed the hop so far and got some inspiration to get your Paws Inky!

A CAS Jingle Bells!

It's that time of year to get your Holiday cards out in the mail!!!!  I decided to make this quick, easy Clean and Simple card for the CAS-ology Challenge.

I hand cut a bell shape from patterned paper. I ended up folding the paper and then making the cut to quickly have two bells!  I popped the bells up with foam tape and added some of the amazing $1 spot Twine from Target.   To complete the sentiment, I added the word Jingle with some Gold embossing powder.  Then added a Versamark Pen and sketched around for a subtle extra.

This card would be easy to mass produce and really look great for the holidays.

Newton's Nook Designs Stamps - Holiday Wishes
Target $1 Spot Twine

Lawnscaping Challenge #69 - Sentiment

Today, I played along with the Lawnscaping Challenge!  I really needed to make a Thank You card for a friend of my dad's in Pittsburgh.  He goes to all the hockey games and gives all the Pittsburgh Penguins Memorabilia to my dad to give to me. (since I have to be the BIGGEST Penguins fan in Florida)  I am very thankful for his generosity.  Thus, why this card had a penguin on it saying Greetings from Florida.  It all makes sense now doesn't it!

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release - Day 1 - Newton's Holiday Mischief

Hi everyone! Danielle Pandeline here and I am so happy to be guest designing for Newton's Nook Designs this month. I just think these new stamps are simply adorable and I know you will agree. Today, I am featuring Newton's Holiday Mischief. I decided to color Newton and match him up with some glitter tape for a fun festive card.

I colored up Newton with my copic markers and cut him out with a banner die.  I added some glittery washi tape (great for the holidays) at a diagonal. Then finished it off with some star sequins.  I think it really makes Lil' Newton the star. :-)

Be sure to head over to the Newton's Nook Designs blog here to see the entire set.

UWYH Challenge - I got chalky

Now that I finally have some time to get scrappy again! I decided to play along with Sweet Stamp Shop's Use What you Have Challenge!  I really love that recently they give you some inspirational to go by if you want to.  I choose to use the color palate on the left. I wasn't found of the yellow color until I resized its GOLD. The girl in the photo is wearing a chunky gold bracelet. Of course my light bulb went off and was like. OK, I can do this!

So, I rummaged through my stash, I have a TON of 6 x 6 patterned paper and I NEED to use it up! Yes, I keep hitting up TJ Maxx when they have the pads on sale for $2.99. *I'm weak*.  So, I found some pads that had the colors in the photo and went to it!  I used Sweet Stamp Shop's "Chalkboard Sayings" and used the new technique of chalkboard stamping and  WHAM! I love it! I am totally going to do a video on this technique stay tuned !
