Surfs Up....Dudette

Happy Thursday!!!!  Just one more day until Friday!! YAY!!!  I can't wait for my weekends can you? This girl needs her beach time!  Today, I bring you a fun card featuring one of the NEW release sets Newton's Beach Party.  What is cuter than a bunny in a grass skirt?? NOTHING!

I went for an 80's feel on this card I thought the crazy Geometric background was a perfect fit for the 80's and surfing.  I don't know about you but wearing surf brands in the late 80's - early 90's was the trend...whether or not you surfed! It was just COOL!  I knew I had to have the Billabong corduroy jacket....who's with me?

Ok, So back to the card.....I used some patterned paper and vellum to create a ground for my surfing bunny. I love the look of torn vellum, it just ads that extra touch.  To top it off for my custom sentiment I used some Tiny Type.

I hope you loved going back in time with me and are inspired by my card.  I had fun creating this for you all.

See you next time!

Newton's Nook Designs July Release - Day 3

Welcome back!! I hope you have had fun following the HUGE Release this week!  Today is Day 3 of Newtons Nook Designs July release. Today, I would like to introduce you to Flirty Flamingos!  I have to say this are one of my most favorite of the release.  Being a Florida girl, you can never have enough flamingos...never!

On to the fun card!!  I used my new tool the marker spritzer to create the fun background behind the flamingos.  I used some more of that fun watercolor paper I created for yesterdays card to ground the "mingos".

Quick Tip:  The Marker Spritzer, can hold several brands of markers.  Just undo the screw and slide the sleeve out!

Thinking of You....

Hello!!  Today, I am on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog bringing you an elegant card.  For this card I used an old school technique.  Remember back in the day when you where a kid playing with watercolors?  I, do!

Do you remember putting old fashioned table salt on your watercolor before it was dry?  Well, I did here on this card.  Basically the salt repels the watercolor to create a beautiful design.

How to:
1) Place watercolor on your project till you are happy with it.
2) Run to the kitchen and grab the salt.
3) Sprinkle the salt over the watercolor while it is still wet.
4) Let your project dry naturally. A Heat gun may push the salt off your paper.
5) When dry, Gently Rub off any loose salt. Some of it will stick to your project.
6) Finish your card!

Materials:
Newton's Nook Designs Stamps - Versatile Vases
Georgia Pacific White Cardstock
Black Cardstock
Watercolor paper
Artist Loft Water Colors
Salt
Clear Embossing Powder
Twine -Target $1.00 Spot
Vellum

Nothing better than a GOLD camera!

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!  As we are all basking in the sun, grilling and swimming....I am sadly working.  Yes, but hopefully I can have a good evening and watch some fireworks and eat some steaks on the grill!!!! Yummy!

This is the first time playing along with the Avery Elle I <3 a="" challenge.="" u="">  I recently got the Smile stamp set from Butterfly Reflections Ink Online Store.  I just HAD to play with it ASAP!!!  My first thought was to emboss it in gold powder.  Then I was like ..... why not on vellum..  Oh its a match made in heaven!   I then jazzed it up with some gold glitter in the center (it did warp the vellum a bit.. i used glossy accents).  But, I still worked with it an stapled it to the card to hold it down.

The rest of the card is just some patterned paper with a circle punch and some homemade enamel dots.

I hope you enjoyed my card, it was quick and easy to create.

Happy Stamping!
