Newtons Nook Designs April Release - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of Newton's Nook Design's April Release.  Today, I am featuring Versatile Vases. This set is perfect for the gardener in your family.   I kept it pretty simple on this card and went with some patterned paper and washi tape.  Colored the clay pot to look like terra cotta and planted some flowers in it!  I colored the flowers in with some pigment ink and distress markers.

Just a reminder all the April sets will be on sale this FRIDAY!

Newtons Nook Designs April Release - Day 1

Hello my scrappy friends!!!  Welcome to the first day of the April Release for Newton's Nook Designs.  I am super excited to show what's in store for April!   Today, I am featuring Love Grows.

I Stamped the large flowers onto some vellum (so hot right now) with white pigment ink and clear embossing power for a soft look.  I then took my favorite distress inks and used a small finger dauber to color them in with.  I also stamped the Love U sentiment on vellum as well with Staz On ink.  For the background I wanted something elegant, but didn't want to use more vellum and over power the card.  So I dug out some plastic packaging that I saved and ran it through a die cutting machine with an embossing folder.  I love love love this look! I stapled it down on all four corners and called it a day!

Hello Spring!

Hello everyone! I am playing again with the Sugar and Spice Crafty Challenge!!!!  There is still time to play, head on over and play along!!

This time the theme is Pastel and Eggs.  Though Eggs were optional!  This was a perfect time to use my new Unicorn Mint Ink from Hero Arts!  I also  used some Brilliance inks that were collecting dust in my room!  I just stamped directly onto some Kraft Cardstock and I love the look!

Quick Tip! When stamping on Vellum always hit it lightly with a heat gun to make sure it's dry before cutting it out or touching it.  No smudges !!!

Materials:
Brilliance Inks
Hero Arts - Unicorn Mint
My Cute Stamps - (discontinued)
Vellum
Kraft Cardstock
White Cardstock
Uni Ball Signo White Gel Pen

Happy Crafting!

Flying by to say Thanks!

Hello my Newton-ites! Today, I am here with a card to inspire you.   I used the Newtons Nook Designs Winged Wishes stamp set to create this fun easy to reproduce card!  I started with some fun colorful patterned paper.  Then for the cloud strip in the middle. It's vellum! Yep, I dry embossed and then hit it with some distress ink to create a soft blue look.  After that I stamped out the cutest little birds and the Thanks Banner and fussy cut that out.  For and added touch of softness I glued some pink and white twine over the string in the image.

I hope this card has brought you some inspiration! I know I love seeing what everyone else creates on the web!

Be sure to check back next week for the April New Release for Newton's Nook Designs!

A crabby I love you

Hey everyone!!! I am here today with an entry for Mama Elephant.  I just love the colors of the photo inspiration challenge, don't you?  So I dug out my stamps and the ideas started flowin!  When I looked at the crab it reminded me of John Cusack in the movie "Say Anything", when he holds the boom box above his head to profess his love.  I decided instead of the boom box the crab (a girl) would hold her heart in the air.  Super cute right?

I used some Beach Sand Embossing Powder and some distress ink and watercolored the background to mimic the sea or the sky (however you want to look at it). I sprinkled some Heidi Swap Color Shine for some added fun!

Materials:
Mama Elephant Stamps
-Cosmic Stars
-Love Quotes
Sprinkle and Sparkle Embossing Powder
Distress Ink
Sequins
Queen & Co. Pearls
Staz On Ink
Heidi Swapp Color Shine

Happy Stampin!

Got Kittens?

Hey everyone!!! Did you see that Newton's Nook Designs is sponsoring the April 1 Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge?

There is still time to play along and have the chance to win some Newton's Nook Designs stamps.

I couldn't resist and had to play along with some of my DT members.  Come on? Who couldn't resist these cute little tootsies!!!  Here is my card.  I started of my using some distress ink to match the color of the little booties in the inspiration photo with the help of a mask. Then I colored up Mr. and Mrs. Newton and grounded them with some woodgrain washi tape.  Added the sentiment, and sketched around the outside of the card to finish it off.  This is a very simple card easy to recreate to send out as an announcement.

Newton's Nook Designs Stamps - Newton's Antics
Wood Grain Washi Tape
Prima - Rain Stencil
Distress Ink
Copic Markers
