Newtons Nook Designs Holiday Release - Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of the Newtons Nook Designs Holiday Release. Today, we are featuring Sun Soaked Christmas.  I have to say I love this set, due to it's always a summer Christmas in Florida!  We wrap the palm trees in lights and head to the beach. 

For this card I used my good ole Distress spray stains for my background.  I stamped the palm tree image and colored with copic markers. I finished the card off with some white sequins.

Newtons Nook Designs - Seas the Day!

Happy Thursday! Today, I am here with a fun summer card for you.  I used Tranquil Tides set from Newtons Nook Designs. There is also a matching Perfect Die Set too!  This card is pretty simple and really quick to whip up in a hurry.  

I used Dye based ink for a crisp clean stamped image. WARNING! Dye based inks will stain your clear stamps. IT doesn't hurt them, but the will discolor. 

I toped the card off with some ribbon from my stash and some enamel dots. I haven't used ribbon in forever.

Newtons Nook Designs - Shark Week

Hello everyone!! It's my favorite time of summer... Shark Week!  Over at Newtons Nook Designs we have been celebrating all WEEK long!  For this week, NND released a matching Die set for the "Shark Bites" stamps. You can get them now in the Newtons Nook Designs Store.

I decided to use the new dies and create a seamless shaker card. At least thats what I am calling it.  I created my background with some Distress Sprays and water.  I die cut the silhouette shark and glued him to the back ground. Then I cut up a plastic page protector to encase my shaker goodies.  Then I colored up the main shark and stamped the sentiment right on the plastic with some Staz On Ink very carefully.  

Quick Tip: Use Staz On ink for slick surfaces and plastics.  Just stamp straight down and life straight up. Don't wiggle or you will get smearing.

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Newton's Nook Designs August Release! Today, we are featuring "Tranquil Tides".  This is a fun bold stamp set, just waiting to be inked up!  

I decided to go with a shaker card for this set. I stamped with Delicata Gold Ink and covered in clear embossing powder and heat set.  Then, I lightly spritz some Distress Spray down on a kraft sheet and then dabbed my background on it and did this over and over until I achieved the perfect look.  Since, the gold stamped images are embossed they resist the ink. I added my sentiment when the background was completely dry.  Here comes the fun part, gather up all your favorite sequins, I chose blues and aquas to match.  then seal the card up with acetate and foam tape.  I added two more embossed stamped images to the outside for a dimensional look.

Need a Little Saving?....I do!

Today, has been a very rough day on our household. One of our fur babies crossed the rainbow bridge. It is very hard for us since he was like our child.   Last night was the last night I had to craft with him....so this card I made is purrfect for today and

......the Paper Smooches Trend Watch Challenge. 

I only own two sets that have anything to do with Ocean from Paper Smooches.   I stared at my sets and  "wham" the idea popped into my head.  What if I can get the Life Saver around the cute little turtles neck?  That would be amazing! I know, your thinking it too!
