A Slice of Happiness

 

Today, I am bringing you a sweet slice of summer featuring Newton's Nook Designs! Yup, I know a bunch of you in the North are still experiencing Winter like conditions.  But, here in Florida it's Summer!   I love this card and the fun colors just cheer up anyone. I used the Sweet Summer Stamp Set from Newton's Nook Designs.  I water colored the slice of watermelon and stamped the lemon slices with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink...how appropriate!  Then I dug out my embossing folders and added some texture to the card base. I have been neglecting my embossing folders for a while and decided they needed some love.  Added a touch of washi tape on the left side and called it done!

A Little Birdie Told Me to Shake it up!

Hey folks! It's a double post Wednesday again!!!  Here is a fun shaker card featuring the stamp set and wood veneers from the April Glam Bag and the butterflies from the April Take 10 Kit. 

I watercolored the background over the bird and sentiment which I embossed to resist! I love that technique!!!

We make the perfect pair!

Hello my crazy crafty friends!!  Today, I am here with a sneak peek of whats in store for the May Release from My Style Stamps. 

In this pick you can see where I added Glossy Accents to finish off those cute eggs. 

This tag also doubles as a gift card holder.  We like to go to Bob Evans for breakfast sometimes, so I thought it was appropriate to use their gift card.  Just in case you don't have a Bob Evans in your area, its like Denny's but WAY better!

Hello Spring!

*This is my second post for the day to see the My Style Stamps Post Click here or scroll down*

Here is my second post for the day!! My first project featuring Studio 29 Designs!  I created this pocket page (which shhh...I am severely behind on Project Life).    I used a few cards from the April Take 10 kit and items from the April Glam Bag.  I love the Amy Tan Stickers that come with the glam bag....photos don't do them justice yo have to see them in person. 

The bottom left card I created using the stamp that is included in the Take 10 kit. I embossed the flower and then colored them in with watercolors lightly to get some dimension. These turned out better than I expected. 

I filled the shaker pocked with sequins, glitter and the little Bee sticker from the Glam Bag.  

Quick Tip: I used baby powder on the backside of the sticker to De-Sticky it. This way it can float freely in the pocket.

Hello Babe!

Happy Hump Day!!!  Today, I a have posted over on the My Style Stamps Facebook Page some inspiration!!!  I created this fun distress watercolor card.  I used the Chasing Love and Love Captured set from My Style Stamps and topped it off with some sequins. 

I also added some embossing paste for more texture. Its subtle but adds just enough!

Newton's Nook Designs April Release - Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of the Newton's Nook Designs April Release. Today, we are showcasing Garden Whimsy. Which is perfect for spring!!!  I know I need to get out in my yard and get to it!!! lol.  This fun set features some of Newton's buddies and their gardening favorites. 

For this card I did the distress smooth technique and added some embossing paste and a fun stencil.  I modified the sentiment to say "I Dig it!".

Newton's Nook Designs April Release - Day 2

Welcome back for Day 2 of the Newton's Nook Designs April Release. Today, we are showcasing Fanciful Florals. This is a bold flower set begging for tons of techniques!!  For this card I created a shaker.  I watercolored the background, stamped the flowers with distress ink, fussy cut them out and created a shaker card with a piece of vellum and sequins. 

 I really love how this card turned out. In the end it is very simple to create.

Newton's Nook Designs April Release - Day 1

Hi there! Welcome to Day 1 of the Newton's Nook Designs April Release. I am super excited for todays release featuring Delightful Doxies.  If you didn't know already I am a doxie mom and I know other doxie mom's will absolutely love this set. 

I know ever time I walk in the door my Sidney is always right there to say, "Hello" and "I love you". So I thought this card would be perfect. I copic colored the little doxie and added some washi tape, wood veneer, sequins and twine to the card.  Shh....the rest of it is simply patterned paper.

I Love You Venti Much

Hello my crafty friends! Today, I bring you a one layer card.  Yes, I know these are my nemesis. It's so hard to not play with patterned paper, enamel dots, sequins and more!  But, I wanted to keep practicing my coloring skills. Even though the frozen drink from the Coffee Lovers set is super easy to color.  

I used Copic Markers to color the frozen drink, stamped the little heart in Spun Sugar Distress Ink and finished it off with Heidi Swapp Spray and Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.  Oh yeah, I chopped the corners off with a We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper.

Create A Smile Stamps Case the DT Challenge

CAS(E) the DT

Happy Saturday!  I found some time to squeak in a non DT related card.  I purchased these Create A Smile for-ever ago and never gave them any love. I know shame on me. Bad Crafter!  Well, Create A Smile is having a Case the DT challenge. 

So, I decided to Case my bestie Samantha!!!!!  It just so happens she is on the DT, BONUS!   Here is her card I decided to Case. But, in general I harnessed my inner Sami-Pants by getting all mess with my card and Mixed Media items.  I used Acrylic Paint and Gesso to create a radiant of color with the Wave of Stars Stencil. Then I added Rock candy Glitter on top of it before it dried.  Then colored up the cute squirrel from Friends in the Woods.  And added the sentiment from Penguin Party.

I hope you enjoyed my creation based off my Bestie Samantha!

Happy Thursday!  Today, I am here with a fun card for Newton's Nook Designs. It is very hard for most of us to create a masculine card.  So, I decided to take a stab at it.  While I was in South Carolina visiting my bestie we hit up her local scrapbook store.  There, I found this embossing folder from Sizzix with these silly fish on it. While they remind me of the scary fish from the deep oceans, it also made me think of Winston Fishing.

Something to Brag About

Happy Hump Day!!!!  Today, I bring you a fun Brag Book made of Name badge holders.  Yup, you can make something out of anything!  I created some fun shrink drinks with the Coffee Lovers set from My Style Stamps.  

I also used a BUNCH of sequins from the last release.  I just love the colors.

 The Captured Love set has a bunch of great sentiments that worked perfectly with my pages. 

 Enamel dots adorn each page!
