Newtons Nook Designs March Release - Day 3

*All Stamps are Available for purchase tomorrow!*

Welcome to the last day of the Newton's Nook Designs March Release.  Today, we are featuring Basket of Wishes.  This is a super sweet set, where you can fill the basket with several things you could even mix the set with Wagon of Wishes.

I made a cute little tag to hang off a bottle of champagne or wine!   Here is a little tip!  I really wanted gold Thickers. But, I didn't have them int he font I wanted.  So I decided to experiment....carefully.  I found the font I wanted and heat embossed foam Thickers with Gold Embossing powder.  Now, you are thinking um...the foam will melt.....well in my case they shrunk!  Yep, the shrunk maybe 10-20% with very little heat applied, just enough to melt the powder.

For this card I found a PURR-FECT embossing folder from Hobby Lobby from Darice.  So I had to use it the moment I got it!  I wanted to keep this card simple since there is a lot going on. I colored Newton in the basket with  my Copic Markers, nothing too fancy just quick coloring.

Newtons Nook Designs March Release - Day 2

Welcome to Easter Scramble by Newton's Nook Designs!!  This set is perfect for Easter!!  You can go for a simple classic look and make the cracked eggs into Tulips like I did below!  OR use them as cracked eggs and put Newton inside!!!!

I am really in LOVE with this great Spring card, I watercolored the tulips for a soft effect with Inktense Pencils.

For this fun WHIMSY card I placed Newton inside the egg and he is hunting the yard for hidden easter eggs!  I just took my grass edge punch from EK Success and layered a bunch of them to hide the eggs in!

Newtons Nook Deisgns March Release - Day 1

Hello my Crafty friends!!!  Today starts of Newton's Nook Designs March Release!  I am SUPER excited to share with you the festive spring sets this week!

Let's get right into it an introduce you to Spring Showers!  Which features this cute little ducky holding an umbrella.  I went super messy, texture with this card as you can tell.   I started with some watercolor paper and used Distress Inks and smooshed them down on my Tim Holtz mat, spritz with water and dragged my watercolor paper through it for a fun rainy watery effect!  Then I topped it of with a rain stencil and some embossing paste!

For my second card I kept it real CAS (Clean and Simple).  I was really drawn to the sentiment "Showers of Love" and wanted to demonstrate that with the set.  So it finally hit me to make the umbrella catch the LOVE! I layered the cute cloud and cut out just the umbrella from the duck. Punched out some hearts and made them shower down from the clouds!  To finish it of I dragged out my sewing machine and stitched around the edge.

I RAWR U!

Hey all!! Here is my sample card for the Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge!  I wanted to take the Prehistoric Pals set and go WILD with it. I had soooo much fun creating this card for you.  First, I cut out a grass border using my EK Success boarder punch. Then I used the punch upside down as a mask.  Yep! It still created a fun grass look. Then I needed some GREEN dimensional texture paste.  So I added some Heidi Swapp Color Shine to a small amount of paste.  WHAM you have the color you need! Too Cool.  Then I got out my Distress Ink and Markers to color the dinosaurs.  I made a video here to show you!

I hope you enjoy the video and this card and be sure to play along with us in the Inky Paws Challenge!!! I would love to see what you create!

Happy Stamping!

Neon plus Hippos equals #awesome

Hell my crafty chicas!!!  I got my Lawn Fawn order in and I couldn't wait to get super crafty!!!!  I just had to use that cute little hippo! So I colored him up with some fluorescent copic markers.  Nothing special just scribbled the marker down and fussy cut them out.  When I started to stack my hippos they began to lean....so I kept it that way cause it's hilarious! I mean if that happened in real life it would probably do the same thing!  And what is better than neon hippos??? NOTHING! lol

So I entered this card into the Lawnscaping Challenge and the Seize the Birthday Challenge a double whammy!  I blinged it up with some holographic glitter paper and I did glitter the mustache on the one hippo, but it is hard to see in the photo. The inside of the card reads "Happy Birthday" because what else could make a birthday better than hippos!
