A Slice of Happiness

 

Today, I am bringing you a sweet slice of summer featuring Newton's Nook Designs! Yup, I know a bunch of you in the North are still experiencing Winter like conditions.  But, here in Florida it's Summer!   I love this card and the fun colors just cheer up anyone. I used the Sweet Summer Stamp Set from Newton's Nook Designs.  I water colored the slice of watermelon and stamped the lemon slices with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink...how appropriate!  Then I dug out my embossing folders and added some texture to the card base. I have been neglecting my embossing folders for a while and decided they needed some love.  Added a touch of washi tape on the left side and called it done!

For my second piece I decide to create a layout! Celebrating National Tequila Day (7/24).  I decided to stamp out some limes and embossing them in some glittery iridescent powder for a candied look.  I paired them with my EMPTY Rita glasses (whoopsie!).
