Happiness is..

Hello my crafty friends!!!  I hope you have had a great weekend so far. Christmas is right around the corner...eak! Are you finished with your shopping?  I'm not.

I decided to play along in the current Mama Elephant and Me Challenge to take a break from all the Christmas shenanigans!

I really wanted to use both of the new sets I got from Mama Elephant, Purrfect Pair and Arctic Penguins. So I combined the cute Penguin with a sentiment from Purrfect Pair and I think it worked out great!

Materials:

Amy Tan Patterned Paper
Mama Elephant Stamps
-Purrfect Pair
-Arctic Penguins
Peerless Watercolors
Sequins
Clear Embossing Powder
Versamark Ink

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop - December 2014

Welcome to the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

By now you have to be on your 2nd or 3rd cup of coffee by now! lol I know I am !!  I just love these Coffee Lovers Blog Hops they make me thirsty and super creative.

Current Favorite Drink: Dark Roast Coffee, with Honey and Coconut Creamer

Leave me a comment telling me what your favorite drink is! I would love to know.

There is a lot going on with this card and it took me 3 times to get the look I wanted.  I started of with stamping the coffee cup in Hero Arts Mint Unicorn Ink and giving it a coat with clear embossing powder.  Then I went back with a Distress Marker to color in the text on the cup. The coated the entire cup, text, etc.. with versa mark and another coat of embossing powder. That left the entire cup to resist the watercolor background once applied.  I then splattered a little Mr. Hueys on top to look like the foam was everywhere!!

The sides are some washi tape from my stash.  You probably recognize the coffee sleeve (Starbucks). The patterned paper is from the AC Hot Cocoa Pad. The Twine is Martha Stewart's in pink.

Materials:
Hero Arts Stamps
Washi Tape
AC Hot Cocoa Paper
Starbucks Coffee Sleeve
Martha Stewart Twine
Hero Arts - Mint Unicorn Ink
Clear Embossing Powder
Distress Marker: Vintage Photo
Mr. Huey's Calico White Spray

Happy Holidays from Florida!

Happy Monday!!!!  I am here today with a FUN, WARM Card from Florida!!!  I have to say I would love some Cold Weather anytime now!!  I think we had maybe 4-5 days of cooler weather scattered about. UGH!!  Yep, were rocking flip flops and the air condition is on with the Christmas tree up!!

I decided to create how I feel using Flirty Flamingos stamp set. It works perfectly for us Floridians.  I first, stamped the Flamingos in some Cherry Blossom Staz On Ink. I then covered them with a mask of post it tape and distress Inked the sunset. We have some beautiful sunsets in the winter time. Then I colored the flamingos with copic markers, they are easy to color since they are not very large.  For the beach I used gold glitter tape for a festive feel.

Next, I cut a circle out of some baby blue paper and added dots of snow with the snow marker....sigh....I wish it would snow....ok back to 80 Degree reality.  To complete the festive card I used the small santa hat and sentiment from Flaky Family (Currently Sold Out). But, the hats on Winston's Home for Christmas or Holiday Hounds would work too!

I hope this WARMED you up for the holiday's!!!  Feel free to send cold weather my way!!!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Holiday Hop

Welcome to the 2014 Newton's Nook Designs Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop!  If you are just finding out about this hop you might want to start from the beginning at Newton's Nook Designs.   I can't believe the FABulous guest designers we have on the hop that I am jumping for joy and honored that they are on the hop.

Be sure to read all the way down for a chance to win store credit in the NND Shop!

Now on to the project!!!  I really wanted to do something different and create an ornament for the occasion.

First, I used Beacon Glitter Glue to coat the inside of the ornament with a clear glitter and let dry. Next, I decided to stamp the cute little penguin from Snow Day on to vellum with some Staz On Ink. With a steady hand you can get a great image that will not rub off!   Then I colored him with Faber Castell India Ink Markers they are permanent when dry.  Next is the tricky part....how do I adhere him on without seeing any glue.  This little guy fits in the Xyron "X" Sticker Maker and puts a nice thin coat of adhesive on the back. PERFECT!

Then, I decided to use more Staz On Ink in Blue for the snowflakes.  The next hurdle was.....hmmmm.... I really want some snow on the ornament...I wonder if the Snow Pen or Liquid Applique will stick to the glass ornament???  Well, it DOES!!  You just have to do sections at a time so they don't dry before you hit them with the heat gun.

Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks! Blog Hop

I hope you are hanging in here on this wonderful hop!  You should of arrived here from Asty's blog.  I have been a long time reader of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine, they have always had the freshest talent on the block!  I recently had the *GUTS* to send a card in for application and it was ACCEPTED!!!  I was super excited as it was my first time EVER to be published in a major magazine.  But, then to my dismay I got the saddest email ever, that the company will close it's doors at the beginning of 2015. And with that my card will not be published. I was super bummed, but more bummed that we are loosing another outlet of scrappy history.

I wanted to THANK all the wonderful people of Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine for providing great inspiration for so many years.

Ink Paws Challenge - Christmas Theme

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!  I hope yours was great! As it was my sister and I's first time tackling the big bird ourselves.  All in all it came out great, we had a few hiccups with an oven failing to work. Yikes!  But, we just drove the bird to my place and crisis averted!  My house smelled delicious.

Now on to the card!!!  I created a very non traditional/funny holiday card. I wanted to demonstrate that you can use all the sets from Newton's Nook designs for any time of the year!

So I went with the ever popular non holiday colors that are so trendy this year. Blues and Purples. I used distress Ink over embossed resist snowflakes.  I then had an extra dinosaur water colored from an older video I made here.  Once you give him a cute hat he becomes very festive and ready for the holidays!!

Don't forget it's Shop Small Saturday!!!!  Be sure to head on over to the Newton's Nook Designs Store to get your holiday shopping done!

A Naughty Nash Cat

Happy Friday!!!  I hope you are ready for the weekend.  Here in Florida the weather has finally cooled off...now when I say cool.. I mean 70's. I know it's not much, but i'll take it.

Dear Santa Card | Featuring Newton's Nook Designs | Created by Danielle Pandeline

For this card I got a bit messy with some Pearlecent Embossing Paste. I added some Fireworks red spray mist to it and made it a pinkish color. Then I colored Newton to look like my Nash cat. ;-) He is from Newton's Curious Christmas. I love that you can customize him to your own pet, it makes it more personal.  I figured since he was being naught in the tree I added some floss from my stash...yes...it said 2004 on the packaging.  Hey at least I am using it!!! Right?

I topped the card off with the sentiment using red glitter embossing powder on a piece of vellum and added some red enamel dots.

Dear Santa Card | Featuring Newton's Nook Designs | Created by Danielle Pandeline

This card was so much fun to create even thought I made a huge mess!!! lol  I also, thought it would be great for the Naughty or Nice Challenges. Most of Newton's Nook Design's Stamps would apply for this challenge!

Newton's Nook Designs November Release - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the November Release for Newton's Nook Designs!  You are gonna love to Ink , Spray, and Distress this set that will be available for purchase November 12th in the store!

Jennifer designed these snowflakes to look like quilled designs! This is so more efficient than quilling them out of paper every time.

I knew right when I saw this set I wanted to use some distress ink with heat embossed snowflakes for a resist on some watercolor paper.

Then I also set a few aside to cut out and pop up.  To make the sentiment stand out more I used some washi tape in my stash. I used two rows of it for a wide banner, then topped the vellum over it with the embossed sentiment.

I love the distress technique. I could use it on  everything!

Newton's Nook Designs November Release - Day 1

Welcome to the November Release for Newton's Nook Designs!  I hope you are sitting down for this cute set that will be available for purchase November 12th in the store!

I had way too much fun creating this card!!!  I knew right away when I saw Winston that I needed him to be on a Penny Spinner card.  Now this is a card that you will have to hand deliver or stick in a package, because it s quite thick with dimension to allow room for the pennies.

I colored Winston with Copic Markers and kept him simple. I placed some glitter tape and patterned paper for snow banks.  Then I added snowflakes falling from the sky.  I needed to add a sentiment and thought it would fit perfectly on the sign. Now since I live in Florida I don't have this problem, but I could say it about the heat!! lol  So I really wanted to get the feel for the cold snow!! I decided to add my Snow Marker Pen on the sign.  I think it adds the right touch to the card.
