Sugar and Spice Crafty Challenge #7

 Hello my beautiful ladies!  I am here with an entry for the Sugar and Spice Crafty Challenge #7 - Patriotic!  I wanted to dive into my stash and use something I haven't used before.  Thus the searching wasn't very hard!!! lol  

I reached for my MFT stamps, which I love, but sadly don't use enough.  One of the sets has a good sized star and a tag die.  I went ahead and embossed the star on some red vellum from my stash and then cut it out with the tag die. 

Then I grabbed my new Lawn Fawn Dies to spell out Happy 4th of July.  They needed to be grounded so I placed them on strips of watercolored paper scraps I had on my desk from a previous project. 

For some texture I used my Studio Calico Star Stencil and some embossing paste for the background. To finish it off I used some bakers twine and some shiny star sequins!!!

Newtons Nook Designs June Release - Day 1

Welcome to Newton's Nook Designs June Release!!!  I know you are just going to "cluck" over this new stamp set!  hahaha (pun intended)  For my first inspirational piece I created a Blue Ribbon from paper.  I used some dies in my stash to create the ribbon. 

For my next card. I kept it really Clean and Simple (CAS).  I paper pieced the little chicken and placed him on the chicken wire background.  Added some white gel pen and some yellow hemp cord and WHAM!!! Instant card.

A Sweet Birthday Treat!

Hello my crafty friends!!! Today, I bring you a card for the current  Sugar & Spice Crafty Challenge - Sweet Treats.   I LOVE LOVE LOVE this cupcake from Neat and Tangled.  This card has TONS of texture from the embossed acetate to the twine.  I used some of my homemade enamel dots using the Pony Beads ( I don't recommend it).  Use the Perler Beads!!!  Check out my How to video to see why here! 

I ended up making this card for a swap...my first ever....we will see how that goes.  I get 8 birthday cards back.  It will be fun to see other peoples style.

A Snazzy Little Bow Tie

Hello my friends!!!  Today, I bring you a Fathers Day card for Newton's Nook Designs.  YES! its this weekend, you better get your card made!  This is a quick Clean and Simple card that brings a PUNCH.  I don't recommend mailing this card as it has a lot of dimension.  Hand delivering is the best feeling ever! 

For the inside I used Around The House set to tell Dad that he lights up my day!

How to make paper bows using the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch.

~Small Bow~
Paper Cut to 1" x 7 1/8th
Punch Notches at    1 1/2   -    3 1/2     -    1 1/2 inches

Paper Cut to 1" x 10"  inches

A Pop Up Birthday!

Today, I am bring you a 3D Birthday card for Newtons Nook Designs!!  We can always use birthday cards right?  I know I can!!! And if your like me and have been seeing all these 3D box cards popping up (no pun intended) I had to make one!!!!  So, today I will show you how via a video!!  It's kinda long, but there is a lot to go over.


For my card I used some fun patterned paper and some Newton's Nook Designs stamps to embellish the card!!!  I think its too funny to see Newton flying out with all the balloons that were in the box!
