Coffee Plus Pumpkin Equals

Happy Thursday!!!!  Today, I am up on the Newtons Nook Designs blog and I have decided to also enter this in the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!!!  I have never missed a hop and don't plan on it either. 

For this card I used a few sets from Newtons Nook, Fall-ing For you and Whispering Pines. 

This is a quick and simple card to create. I love grounding my images with a strip of washi tape. It's my favorite time of year where coffee meets pumpkin which = Pumpkin Spiced Latte's. YUM!  YES, PSL for life!!!  lol

STAMPtember Exclusive by Newtons Nook Designs

Happy Monday!!!!  EAK! I'm am so excited to announce Newtons Nook Designs has partnered with Simon Says Stamp to bring you a STAMPtember exclusive set and matching dies. This new set is called Bushels of Love and it features a lot of Newtons furry friends. 

The background for this card is a lot watercolor and spray mists.  I just love to play around and get all messy.  I really focused on my coloring and tried to stay within the lines!  It's really hard to do when there are dies for these images, which leave a thin white boarder.  I added some grass washi tape to ground the fox and placed some on the inside of the card and cut off a 1/4" on the top fold to let it show.  I think it adds a nice touch. 

Here is a look at the whole set and you get dies for all the images.  No fussy cutting around Winston and his pumpkin. Whew!

I colored up this kitty to look like my cat Nash you can follow him on Instagram @MrNashCat ;-) 

I just love making these backgrounds they are so quick and easy.  I grabbed my favorite Distress Stain Spray and regular card stock.  It soaks up the spray for a quick background.  This time I added some Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst Sprays for a good shimmer.

Newtons Nook Designs September Release -Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of Newtons Nook Designs September Release! Today, we are featuring "Fall-ing for You".  I knew the minute I set my eyes on this card that I had to create a chalkboard look with that sentiment.  It totally reminded me of walking into a coffee shop and seeing this sign. 

Want to create a chalkboard look?

Supplies Needed:

Black Card Stock
White Pigment Ink
White Embossing Power
Heat Tool

Stamp image with white pigment ink, apply white embossing powder and heat set. Now here is the magical part, it's really technical so pay attention. Take a finger and dab it in to the white pigment ink gently drag your finger left to right to left or back and forth across the sentiment. (Make sure your embossing has cooled or it will burn and stick your finger) Rub the ink around and blend it in till you achieved the desired look!

Newtons Nook Designs September Release - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of Newtons Nook Designs September Release!  Today, we are featuring "What A Hoot" and matching Purr-fect Dies.  These owls are too cute and super fun and easy to color. 

For this card I inked up a clear block with some distress ink and spritzed it with some water and smoothed it on the paper to create the green woodsy effect behind the owl.  For extra dimenson I used the Purr-fect die cuts to pop up some extra leaves.

Happy Monday!!! Welcome to the September Release for Newtons Nook Designs.  Today, we are featuring "Dress Up Doxie". I squealed when I first saw this set.  If you didn't know I am a doxie mom! So, this set makes me happy.  

I love this pirate puppy!!!! The super cute ARRRRRF! sentiment is just to cute.

A colorful Happy Anniversary Card

Hi there! Happy Thursday!  Today is Tropical Storm day here in Florida. Ok, well not an official day, but there is one and its supposed to make landfall today.  Luckily not really near me, but we will get lots of rain and feel some effects from it.  

I decided to create a Happy Anniversary card since, I seem to forget these kinda special occasions and its great to have cards on hand and ready to go!  I used Years of Cheers and Simply Sentimental from Newtons Nook Designs to create this card. 

I started of by using versa mark ink to stamp my sentiment and images and used a holographic embossing powder and heat set.  Then I sprayed the background with Distress Stain Sprays, dried it, sprinkled some Ken Oliver Color Burst, dried it then some clear glimmer mist and gold Heidi Swapp Spray splatters.  Theres, a lot of mixing happening!!!!  But, your supposed to have fun right?!  

I then die cut the main piece and placed it on a die cut black boarder to make all that messy fun the focal point. Finished the card off with some glossy accents on those champagne glasses.
